The Model 7060 is a manually operated selector valve. This 7 port valve has a common (center) port that connects with one of six positions. A spring loaded detent mechanism allows continuous rotation in either direction and insures that the shaft falls into each position at the precise 60 degree spacing.
For column selection, an injector outlet is connected to the common port of the 7060 which directs the flow to one of up to six columns. However, it is useful to use the sixth port for a bypass/flush-out tube. A second 7060 is placed at the column outlet to direct the effluent to the detector. Note that two separate 7060 valves are required.
